Pollution has become a cause of concern as it causes millions of pre-mature deaths every year. According to the recently released State of the Global Air 2017, the particulate matter (PM2.5)—the most hazardous element of air pollution—caused around 4.2 million premature deaths worldwide. Ozone and particle poses a great threat to our health. Though ozone layer is good for our health but ozone pollution is a leading cause of premature deaths all over the globe. Particle and ozone pollution both are resulting in millions of deaths every year.
Pollution has become an alarming global problem. According to the recent report by HEI in cooperation with the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington and the University of British Columbia, around 92% of the people worldwide live in unhealthy air.
Pollution lowers the oxygen level. Carbon monoxide enters the bloodstream through the lungs and binds to hemoglobin, the substance in blood that carries to cells. It reduces the amount of oxygen reaching the body’s organs and tissues causing cancer.
